Arrive at Guwahati airport and drive to Shillong. En route, take a break at Umiam Lake (Barapani Lake).

Umiam Lake is a manmade lake that is actually a dam for the Umiam River. It is spread over 220 square km. Activities like kayaking, water cycling, scooting, and boating are available.

Check-in hotel, and after refreshment, if time permits, visit the Cathedral of Mary. Overnight in Shillong.

On this day, we start our journey a little early, after breakfast, for an excursion to Cherrapunjee. En route, stop at the Duwan Sing Syiem view point

In Cherrapunjee we will take you to visit Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. Later take a walk inside the Mawsmai Cave.

Have lunch at Cherrapunjee and drive back to Shillong. Evening walk around Police Bazar (Most of the shops remain closed on Sunday).

Overnight stay at Shillong.

After breakfast, drive to Mawlynnong, the cleanest village in Asia, also known as ‘God’s own garden’. With over 80 households, the village gives the ambiance of walking in a well maintained park. Climb the 80 ft Sky Walk at Mawlynnong village for a bird's-eye view of the village, the plantations, and the faraway plains of Bangladesh. You will also be acquainted with the Khasi lifestyle, their culture, and their economy.

A trek to the nearby Rewai Village is another interesting activity. Walk down a flight of almost 100 steps to witness nature’s wonder, the Living-Root Bridge.  The bridges are tangles of massive, thick roots, which the local people intertwine to form a bridge that can hold several people at a time. The root bridges, which may be up to over a hundred feet long, take ten to fifteen years to become fully functional, but they become very strong in the process. The bridges live, keep growing, and strengthen over time. The useful lifespan of the bridges, is thought to be 500–600 years.

Later, drive to Dawki, a village of the Jaintia community whose prime occupation is fishing. Be mesmerized by the beauty of the Umngot River, the venue of the annual boat race held during March and April at Umsyiem. The Umngot itself is a prime fishing spot for fishermen in the villages. The river is also famous for its crystal-clear water, so clear that when seen from a distance, it appears as if the boat is floating in mid-air! The Umngotriver is the natural boundary between RiPnar or Jaintia Hills and the HimaKhyrim of Khasi Hills, over which a single-span suspension bridge was constructed. This is the gateway to Bangladesh, where major export and import transactions take place. Enjoy an amazing country boat river ride. Drive up to the Bangladesh border.

Later, proceed to Shillong for an overnight stay.

Note: It is advisable to carry a packed lunch to Mawlynnong.

After breakfast, drive to Kaziranga. Evening, enjoy a cultural dance show of Assam. Overnight at Kaziranga.

In Kaziranga, to enjoy a cultural show, you have options, as some local youth organized a cultural show in Kohora in auditorium or open field, and you can also go to the Orchid and Biodiversity Park, which is approx. 3 km away from Kohora (Main Market area). They usually organize 3–5 types of cultural dances, along with the famous Bihu dance. We recommend that you do not miss the program.
